Hawaii Plane Crash Video

A couple of news outlets are now running this story but besides the reporter overdramatizing it, I think this one has one of the better videos:

pretty amazing to see video of it. I won't judge the actions as I don't know the timeframe from engine out to the ditch but a few things-
1. put the life vest on before you crash, if you have time, but don't inflate it until you are out the door and in the water
2. this is why no matter when I fly, I wear shoes, pants and cotton based clothing. I see a lot of people boarding planes with flip flops and high heels. Don't wear synthetics as they can melt to your skin where as cotton will burn cleanly away (also why I shave my head...safety first!!!)
3. pilot did a great job. the fact that you don't see people with bloody/busted noses makes believe he pulled it into the horn at the right time. Kudos

now....the health director who releases POTUS birth cert dies, after the crash....where is my damm tinfoil!!!

obviously you have no idea how you'll respond when that happens, but there seemed to be a whole lot of dicking around getting out of the plane (but there clearly could be some issue with getting out that is unseen on the video)

wild speculation time-I suspect the pilot had his hands full with the plane and the mayday calls. He probably couldn't turn around and tell people to put on their vests.

Pretty dramatic video. Of course, the ABC talking head attempts to make the dramatic even more dramatic by saying the plane was "spiraling into the ocean" when, in fact, it looked like a controlled ditching of the aircraft by the pilot.

Overall, that looked pretty tame to me. Still a bad day for everyone though. Was everyone ok?

Nice work by the pilot. Looks like everybody got out fine. Costco doesn't have enough tinfoil for me to think something very odd happened with the health directors death. Maybe she was going to expose the fake...

That's exactly what I said to myself watching it. Then she says "scrambling for the exit... trying to grab onto anything they can." I stopped watching then and just said "No shit!?" I couldn't see what they were doing in the video... Not exactly putting down a heavy jet into the Hudson River, but job well done by the pilot.
