    Default Layaway?

I'm a relative newcomer to firearms and concealed carry (now an NRA "Lifer," however), and I'd like to make the AR-15 my next purchase..while they're still legal! Is layaway a possibility anywhere? As a retiree, it's going to take me some time to come up with all of the $$, but I'd rather make the committment to the purchase than to salt away the money where I could use it for something else.

Dunno bout 'layaway', but why not start buying parts instead?A lower here, parts kit there, upper later on...before you know it you have your rifle?
Just my thoughts, as this way you are committed, spend $$ when you have it and get the end result you want.

Mom and pop stores here in Lakewood will do them with a percentage down and a time limit. Sure somewhere else out there does em too.

    Welcome,,

The best way would be the "parts" way.. That way You could get what You want.. However,, and though They aren't high on our list of places to go,, Gander Mountian has a decent layaway..

Gander Mt in Thornton does 20% down and 90 days but if you deep in contact with them they usually will extend that too.

Bill - you're putting the cart before the horse. Step into the "New Member Sign In" forum and introduce yourself.

Letting us know what town/municipality you 're from can help us give you ideas for retailers in your area. some of the recommendations are great, but if you're from the Western slope they probably won't help you too much.

    BTW - Welcome!

Specialty Sports In Colorado Springs does the same. 20% down with 90 days to pay. They actually still have some AR's left. Mostly DPMS and Olympics.
I spent my Obama Stimulus money on a GUN!
