    Tuff enough when they are old but even worse when they are gone too soon and too fast. Very sorry for you and your sons loss.

    Condolances for sure. I am dreading having to have that convirsation with my son in the future. However, when it is such a young dog and child it is very tough.

    Sorry for your loss. I've lost several dogs, but usually to old age. Always hurts.

    I have an Aussie AND a Border Collie. Great dogs, especially around kids, and smart too...

    I'm really sorry to hear about this. Hard enough to lose the dog as I know they are family, but I can only imagine how tough it was to have that discussion with your son as well. Take care...

    I lost my dog to a car late last year as well,,,very hard to deal with and very saddening, very sorry for your loss. I find i like my dog more than i like most human beings,,,,so sorry my friend.

    I think it was Mickey Rooney who said every child should see puppies born and have to put an old friend down once in their life. I agree. IMO, it teaches them the cycle of life we all are held too.
