Default Family owned restraunts in/near Denver

We prefer to et in family owned, small business eateries. We've found a couple on Countyline. But since we're in Highlands Ranch, a relatively new part of Denver we're more likely to find a Chili's, Appleby's, or TGIF. We're at I-470 and Quebec. Can anyone suggest some nice small biz places to eat?

I have to eat gluten free so that usually rules out fast food. Up-scale burgers are okay if I eat them without the bun. It also generally rules out Chinese (soy sauce) and Italian (wheat flour) but I can almost always find something.

I was going to suggest Dino's in Lakewood, on West Colfax, but that is Italian. How about Columbine Steak House on 3rd and Federal? You'll want to wash yourself when you walk in, but you can't find a better steak for the price they charge.

Having lived in HR for a long time and would also prefer to support smaller local business here is where we go.

Intersection of county line and holly
    farro-italian
    tapas de jeres-spanish
    big bills-pizza
    wild ginger-thai
there is also a decent Mexican place next to the Thai place, can't remember the name

    HR pkwy and Fairview
    sushi mango
    123 pho

west HR pkwy around Lucent to Wildcat
    Indulge
    Pierre Michele's-French

Not a lot of choices but they are all solid. Sorry I can't recommend any thing gluten free.

This is a great one on University and Dry Creek (by Ccici's pizza). - http://www.yelp.com/biz/la-polleria-centennial-2

The husband and wife that own it have been there working every time we've eaten there.
