WTF is this "no name" CA group trying to get legislation passed in CO? Mind your own farking business. This is not a good use of our government and a wholly stupid idea.

I've had friends quite going to churches that required counseling sessions before they could be married in the church.

Sort of reminds me of all the child care classes required by social services before allowed to foster care. I always took great delight in that my wife and I had at least twice the experience of most the social workers providing the training. Kind of like getting marital advise from a celibate priest

So government should be able to force you to take a government indoctrination class before you can engage in the basic human right of Marriage, but if the state demands to see someone's driver's license before they can vote that would be stepping over the line?

Sounds like a way to skip out on lawyer fees when you get divorced. Show up in court and say, "We never took our marriage classes." Then walk out the door.

I attended the religious class with Reverend before getting married. It was about 5 hours of course. Lots of paper work.
    It was helpful.

So a state that allows same sex marriage is going to mandate that we have marriage counseling? Whats next, a dna test to make sure we are compatible? Piss off.

Oh, and let me guess who will end up paying for this.

Note that they are specifically excluding "Civil Unions" from the mandatory counseling requirement.

Mustn't inconvenience the gays ya know ... that would be homophobic.
