    Default 300 BLK problems

Hey guys looking for some advice. Took my 300 blk 16" carbine gas with standard buffer and FA BCG out. Noticed it would not lock back after final round 50% of time. Also seems like it's short stroking. The casing from the fired round would not eject and would still feed another round. That happened probably around 6 out of 30 times. I was shooting some ammo from good to go, it's a 147gr. Non suppressed. Any ideas?

Try some 110 or 125 grain stuff. Or maybe open the gas port up a bit? Or try a non-FA carrier?

Find some factory supersonic ammo and run it through first. If it still malfunctions, then we could give you more accurate advice.

Picked up some 125gr Remington premier otm from Bowers gonna see if that cycles better, I know that the other stuff was "practice ammo" was only rated at 1975fps out of a 18" barrel

And make sure the BCG is nice and wet. Next step will be to check your gas system from stem to stern.

Right there in the first post. Yes I am a dumbass.

You might want to try a semi auto carrier and check the weight of your buffer.

If it wont run with the Remington 125s, there is other issues.

My friend had this happen on his 300blk build; he had to open up the gas port hole on the barrel to fix it.

What size buffer and spring is best for the carbine length gas system in a 16" barrel chambered in 300BLK? Can you expect it to ever run all kinds of ammo from 110grain to 220gran subs?
