Not getting at what your post means... sarcasm?

If you go 1 mile over the speed limit you are a criminal. If you use an aerosol can in a manner other than in which it was labelled for, etc etc you are a criminal.

I fail to see how my post labels me as "cop hater", but perhaps you can expand on your reply a little bit.

Tone of conversation doesn't go through with text, are you trying to make a point ... I said nothing bad about the cop

... are you insinuating I am stupid?
... who exactly is my betters? I am the one keeping myself safe at night, I don't expect anyone else to.

He is being facetious about the topic in general. It is not directed at you.

Ahhh okay, Like I said... tone does not go through in text.

I also get a little emotional seeing times like this when the country I spent 15 years defending is going in the shitter.

i installed accessories in cars while in college, customer came in with a limo he had bought at a police auction, he had us take the whole car apart top to bottom to make sure their were no drugs in the vehicle. the limo had at least ten different places that had been altered to hide drugs.

Um... I may respect my fellow citizen but it is arrogance like that statement that make many not want to.

    The Ohio law reads as

“No person shall knowingly operate, possess, or use a vehicle with a hidden compartment with knowledge that the hidden compartment is used or intended to be used to facilitate the unlawful concealment or transportation of a controlled substance.”
Lots of qualifiers in that statement, to the point that it would seem difficult to prosecute the guy based on the OPs original article. From a few other articles on this, I read that the guy and others were being watched for drug trafficking. The "routine" stop was a bit more "targeted" than random. It appears that they stopped the guy hoping to find "stuff", but that he was "between runs" and his compartments were empty.

That is what I pieced together from the multiple articles I had to read to gather some of the pieces. I could not find ONE article that had everything in a nice compact story.
It is not clear what other "evidence" they have on the guy. Perhaps that is what allowed them to charge/hold him ?

Further, IMHO, I believe that the police can mess up your day pretty much anytime they want. I "thought" that they could hold you without charges for a reasonable amount of time (varies by state but I've seen 48-72 hours). At that time they need to charge you, or release you. It is the prosecutor (aka DA) that needs to file the charges for a "crime". It will still cost you inconvenience, time and $$$ even if you are not found guilty.

Then again it is up to you and your wallet if you want to pursue a counter suit. We all feel like we "should", but you really need to look into things before moving forward. EX: In Colorado, if an EMTs blunders something , they can be sued much more successfully if they are from a private company, but hold huge "immunity from prosecution" if they are from a government agency.
