Doesn't someone on here deliver propane and if so what is the price today?

Most everyone is near or over $4 per gallon. AmeriGas is $5.28 gal in Bailey/Conifer today. Independent Propane is $3.86 and climbing.

I've been hearing prices as high as $7.00. Not sure if that is around here.

    Glad I'm on summer fill.

Just called Ferrell gas up north here today and was quoted $5.19 a gallon, ouch! Guess I'll keep feeding dollar bills into the wood stove.

My brother delivers for a coop in southeast Kansas. Last week it was $2.14 now it's $4.39.

Anything special driving the price? Wasn't there a super surplus just 2 years ago?

All the cold weather in the mid-west and east coast is driving the price up.

Most of the surplus was used drying wet crops in late fall. Unusually cold weather further drove up consumption. A supply pipeline somewhere (MN maybe?) is also down and now there's more extremely cold weather driving more demand. That's what I've heard.

I think he told me it was in the high $2 dollar range around here.
All of the companies in our area have sent out letters saying they can no longer honor those capped prices...they usually have a disclaimer that allows them to do that somewhere in the contract.

The prices literally doubled overnight (actually it was over the weekend). Now they've gone up even more. Transports that usually fill in KS terminals are driving all the way down to the TX coast refineries to fill because it's cheaper to pay for fuel than it is to pay for the 9000 gallons of propane to fill a truck. DOT has suspended driver hours of service rules in most states to allow drivers more hours to meet demand.

I'm glad I heat with wood. Other than a small cost for chainsaw and splitter fuel, we heat for free. I never pay for firewood as so many people will literally give it away if you're willing to pick it up off there property. There's no more keeping the thermostat at 62 deg in the winter...if we want it 75 in the house when it's 10 below outside, no problem. Throw another log in the stove.
