Default What is the worst BS ticket you ever got? Is this bad or good?

I was working on the brakes in my Mustang and when I was ready to take her for a test drive I got pulled over and was in quite a bad position, because I didn't have my papers on me. I was in dirty clothes, and just going for a spin then I was going right back to finish the job.

Well he asked for my license and insurance and gave me a lecture about going to fast. I didn't have any of it but I have paid all my bills so its up to date. He takes my registration and leaves for while. And comes back telling that he won't give me a ticket for speeding (I never admitted to going faster than the speed limit) He won't give me a ticket for anything else like no proof of insurance or license... Then he asks if I have lived anywhere else in Colorado? I told him that I used to live in Englewood and that is where I grew up but that was like 13 years ago. He asked if I got into a lot of trouble there? I said that I was charged with a lot of BS tickets there. None stuck.

Now the BS part he says that he is going to give me a ticket for the Fuzzy Dice on my mirrior. WTF!! He says that it won't affect my insurance or put any points on my license. Its $54 ticket and I can just mail it in. Well even though I told him that I am not working and I can't afford a chunk of change like that right now. He says that he could charge me with speeding and all the other stuff too. I told him that isn't any better maybe he would like to try again. So instead of catching criminals or voter defrauders he is harassing me.

This is like a speeding ticket that I got a few years back where it costs me $550 for going over the speed limit by 11 mph. I had to take a class and pay a fine but they didn't spank me with points. There is some serious crack down going on in my neighborhood lately too. But I am getting sick of getting trouble for minding my own business. And I want that "thing" removed from my name that tells cops to ticket me no matter what when I get a contact with them. Its been 13 years since I have even lived in that piss bucket town and I am sick of this shit.

Any way is any one else getting speed taxed or talking to the police tax lately? If your not good for you but don't get cocky it happened to me and I keep a low profile. Should I just pawn something and pay the ticket or fight it? Or pay the ticket and start raising hell with the Mayor of Denver about the cops having free rain of the people here namely me?

    Cool

I got a ticket for J-Walking in El Paso Texas. I was dropping off some blue prints at the city building down town and the only parking spot was reserved for a Judge. SO , I thought I'd just park, run in and out. Well a cop saw me run across the street and stoped me. I was thinking, Oh man he busted me for parking.... So I didn't argue at all about a $15 J-Walking fine.

All I can say is be on your toes while driving now.
I see more and more cops every day out there just waiting, pulling people over, giving them tickets for the smallest of things.
I see them at 4:30 in the morning...that used to never happen.

In my opinion, I feel they are giving all the extra tickets as job security. If there is any lack in funding for their department, they can easily make up for it by writing all the extra tickets, not letting as many people go and instead of taking a nap at 4:00AM, they are out there getting the early AM speeders who are late to work, or who know there isn't another damn person on the road crazy enough to be up that early and don't feel they are risking anyone else by going an extra 5-10 over the limit.

Next time you go out for a drive, be more watchful...you will see more cops than usual and more people pulled over than usual.

All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

    My Feedback

I don't know about Denver, but in the Springs they're using it as a revenue stream that's not limited by Tarbor... that becomes painfully obvious when you go to court- they'll immediately offer a non-moving violation, and if you push, they'll usually make it a zero-points violoation- but the FINE WILL NOT be reduced under any circumstances (unless you're found not guilty)

they've lost sales tax revenue with the economic downturn- so they've been looking anywhere they can get funds...

+1....act like an ass to the cop and you'll usually get a piece of paper reminding you not to do it again.

Gee, I'm pretty proud of the fact that I haven't had a ticket in nearly 30 years...

I used to get tickets everywhere I went, lost my license, got tickets for driving without a license, no insurance, exibition of speed the whole nine yards. My insurance used to run $180 a month! Now I havent had a ticket since I dont remember when, because I only drive grandma cars. But the only thing that really saved my butt on my driving on a suspended experience was that I was "very polite and honest", got a $440 fine and a defered sentence.
