KevDen, Jers points are similar to most of our reactions to "common sense gun control regulations". Little bites on our freedoms until the whole 2A is meaningless and we all look around and say "How we get here?" Or " I just hunt why does someone need an AR? No one needs to be armed that is what the police are for" and on and on.

We see how the little steps have progressed in states like NY and CA and did not want CO going anywhere close to that, the same is true for political correctness especially in our schools. This double talk sticks out and needs to be resoundly bitch slapped back like we did with 3 out of work Dems.

I agree with other posters the kids should organize over social media and show 'Merica in the positive light and the beacon to the world. God these are the times I wished I had kids of my own. Hope someone here has kids in that school and can keep us posted.

I am not disagreeing with you. All I am saying is, what I gathered from the video, and others, is that being white and American are one in the same and I don't think it has to be that way. I do believe in reverse racism, and I do believe that our government often turns our cultures against one another. And I do believe that political correctness is bad and will destroy this country. All I wanted to do was bring up instances in which peoples from other nations came here to be patriotic and they did not speak the native language. They have been doing for hundreds of years now, really.

Doesn't really have much if anything to do with the thread topic or the indoctrination example I brought up in support of the topic. Not knowing a language of a country you plan to reside in the second you set foot on it's soil is understandable and not in question. A major corporation advertising alleged diversity by having a song we consider a national treasure sung in languages other than ours is upsetting for those who consider themselves American that are tired of English being considered more and more of an option to being an American. If I hated this country so much that I felt France was the best bet for a life of opportunity I sure as hell wouldn't arrive and show my thanks by singing their songs of nationalism in English. I'd at least learn to sing those songs in the native tongue as I learned the language in general. I'm not asking for anything I wouldn't do myself because, after all, that's a HUGE part of becoming a citizen of that nation. If I expect them to bend their nation to me language and way of life then why did I leave the US to begin with? I feel like we're going round and round over the same things here and it's not really on topic so I'll just agree to disagree if you can't understand how anything I'm saying is a reasonable expectation of those who wish to be a part of our great society.

Here's another memory. I served in the U.S. Navy in the seventies and there were Navajos on board that could barely speak English. They were from a rez. Good guys but you had to listen close and hard...

I always though "'merica" was a term somehow related to W and his perceived inability to pronounce many words correctly. I don't like in 'merica or 'murica or whatever--and view them as frankly stupid terms.

Ah heck, that's nothing new. I knew white (Irish/Italian) guys from New Yawk that could barely speak English and had to be listened to very closely in order to be understood ... and then there are the Bostonians. ;-)
