    Default Three Dog Night

I've heard the saying "three dog night" originated in various places long ago to describe cold nights where it would take three dogs in bed with you to keep warm. Not sure it's true but it sounds reasonable.

And tonight, it's cold...-8 and falling here in Bailey. My little dogs love to cuddle on nights like this. They get into bed and attach themselves to me like ticks. One of my Terriers, Lola, is quite possibly the best cuddling little dog in the world. She curls up right along my chest and lays there all night.

So, I'm curious... How many of you allow dogs in the bed? I'm sure the feelings on this are varied and range from extremes, like me with 4 dogs in bed, to that's likely the most disgusting thing in the world to sleep with an animal.

Haven't really seen this discussed here that I recall and a search brings up more dog threads than I can count.

So, dogs in bed or not.

Only dog in my bed is me!

Never had a dog,but I did doggysit recently it was a pomapikachu. He'd cuddle up next to me for a bit on the bed then find his own digs.

My wife and I usualy work opposite shifts, so each of us typically sleep with two dogs and a cat. Sometimes I wish the dogs were small like yours...

I had to vote I would allow one to as I do not currently have any pets .....

but when I was married I was amazed how much space one skinny chick, one mid size dog ( Aussie cattle dog), and a cat could take leaving me so little of a king size bed .

The Cat would sleep at about my ankles on one side.. The Dog at about knee level on the other so not really between me and the ex but still there... I'd at times have to wake up and tell the dog to leave the cat alone as he would get grumpy when the dog wanted to play at 4 am and he wanted to sleep and start growling... for some reason a growling cat is an instant wake up for me.. tho I can sleep thru pretty much anything else LOL

I bought one of those temperpedic dog beds, so she is way happier sleeping in her bed leaving my bed all to me.

Site must be doing maintenance as it is slow as hell right now so I can't do a proper quote...

That is a brave little cat right there!
I'm sure the cat has shown both dog's who the boss is ...

And both dogs agreed to let the little ball of fur and nose poking needles to continue thinking he is boss.... too painful to disagree.

None of our three dogs in the bed but when it's this cold they don't dilly dally when I call them into the house.

One fifty pound blue heeler. He doesn't really like to cuddle but if you are laying where he wants to, he will try to lay on top of you or push you out of the way.
