Did mine on turbo tax last week, thedirect deposit refund is pending for tomorrow. Hookers and blow here I come!
I claimed 4 the first half of the year and 10 the second half, I am getting $300 from federal and I owe state $500 which I never changed my deductions on. I don't use it as a savings account, I would rather keep my money $100 at a time then to get a big refund.

Best way to get in to see me at the shop is to call or email Shannon and make an appointment.
Started mine as soon as I got my W2. HOLY CRAP!!! Has anyone else noticed a significantly higher tax burden, as compared to last year? Without what I consider to be any significant changes, I am experiencing a change in excess of $500, and not in my favor.
I will go back through the process, line by line, and see if I mis-keyed something, but I am doubtful it will change. F this administration, and their desire to kill the Amercan Spirit, the American Way and America in general. BOO!!!
Someone paying/owing huge chunk of taxes to IRS, or getting refunded by IRS really doesn't say they make MORE money or not.
Let's just say, there is Dellusional Braggie Avg Joe who makes $250k/yr on a wage being a some kind of professional job (proj mgmt/physician/jr fi analyst/etc) will probably have to pay taxes. Now, this Dellusional Braggie Avg Joe thinks that he is so rich ,because he owes $20k, $30k, or $50k to IRS. This is just total retardness.
Rich CEO who manages Russell 2000 level company makes ONLY $12k/yr in work wage. Rich CEO does have a fat ESOP/ESPP/Warrents which may have $35mil which he received/exercised. However, this rich CEO did NOT dispose/sell on this specific tax year. Rich CEO's tax form will ONLY have $12k/yr reported income. He will probably receive good chunk of money (depeonds on interest and dependent, etc).
I see this all the time. That and the guy that makes 30K is so excited to get $2500 back for taxes. No matter how many times I tell people that you just gave the government an interest free loan for the year they still think it is better than adjusting their withholding to minimize the tax they pay initially keeping more money in their pocket.
I'm not so great with taxes. But this is the first time ever I owe. And I owe $1k! I didnt even hit $40k this year.
I did the w4s the same as last year. No clue.
