Mine is not as bad as the last few years..but still in the 5 digits too. April is always a sad month.

we have a new accountant due to our move last year. We did our taxes last night. We're currently digging through every possible loop-hole to see where we can come up with more deductions.

I won't share the specifics, but the .gov took a LOT of money from us last year...and they want a LOT more (good used car sized). Our relocation was company paid, but that hit's W2 earnings.

we're getting about $1200 back total from states (CO and CT) but the fed is sticking it right up our ass

Isn't that what the fed does best?

How many of you would vote to convict someone on what the irs called a tax cheat?

How many support the confiscation of someone's house if they don't pay their property taxes.

How many support fines for not having the correct tags on the vehicle or gasp driving without a license.

How many think the the cops who issues the fine or the judge who rubber stamps it or the clerk who collects the money are good people who are just trying to feed their families, just doing their job and are blameless.

How many think that if someone doesn't have the correct govt permission slip aka permit to do x, deserves to be fined and imprisoned if he doesn't pay

Yea therein lies the problem. You can say oh don't blame xyz, blame the politicians. Funny no politician ever gave me a parking ticket orwhatevr. No politician sat behind a window in order to collect the fine

No it was always the willing volunteer who chose to work for the State who did those things. But hell Steve, the meter maid makes a great brisket in July so we will just look the other way that he gets paid to steal people's property.

Seems to be working out pretty well.

Hell some here think you should be denied when you try to buy a gun because you didn't pay a traffic ticket that lead to a warrant being issued.

But hey whatever floats your boat.

Well said. If folks stopped complying there is little they could actually do. All of these things are an affront to all our founding fathers intended for us.
