Default Just filed my 2013 Taxes

What a PITA. Glad to have that out of the way.

Did you think you were truly free? Go ahead and skip your taxes from here on out. See what happens...

The sooner you file, the better to avoid the chance that some bastard steals your identity and claims a false refund (which ties up your potential refund another 6+mo). It's quite common and a nasty headache if you get hit, the IRS was/is (not sure if they're still doing it) stupid to offer refunds on visa cash cards.

I take it this only happens with paper filing and check/visa cards mailed back?

We efile and direct deposit so we usually get our money back in about 2 weeks. Nice return coming this year!

I wish someone else would pay my tax due.

With the Obama tax increase, and we moved up a tax bracket this year, we get to pay $200 back to the feds. First time I think Ive ever had to actually pay.

I wait until the deadline. I like to hang on to my money as long as I can before I fork it over to the government.
