    Default 7.62 NATO vs. 308

OK, I've been getting all kind of answers for this, hopefully someone with knowledge can answer this. Do 7.62 NATO and 308 have the same spec bullet(diameter and such)? And which one has more pressure? Can I shoot 7.62 NATO in 308 chamber?

While SAAMI specs appear to spec out a higher pressure limit for commercial .308 Win than military specs for 7.62x51NATO, the reality is that the bulk of the difference is confusion between old CUP and PSI together with the fact that the military specifications for testing pressure and for deciding a lot was out of spec are not comparable to SAAMI.

For reliable sources of ammo, they are effectively interchangeable.

Always shot for 1.631-2 in the fal's and never had an issue. I also have one that shoots well that is on the loose side. Add for this, take away for setback, blah, blah........ If it closes on a go and does not close on a no-go that is fine. I load on .308 dies because I have never seen 7.62X51 dies and it always goes bang.
I see you running, tell me what your running from

Nobody's coming, what ya do that was so wrong.
