Default Anyone have a Toyota FJ Cruiser?

Thinking of getting a new vehicle. I really want a Tundra but that isnt happening anytime soon and I need to get into a new vehicle. I like the FJ Cruiser but I dont know much about them. Hoping someone here has some insight. I like the fact that a brand new one is only about $32000.

If I'm ever at a party and the cops come to arrest people. Ill blindfold myself, throw the ball gag in, handcuff my hands, and hide in a closet. Police never arrest hostages!

I really don't have anything constructive to give you other than I really want one myself. I was looking at them, but didn't like the rear passenger area for a car seat. I ended up with a 4 door Tacoma.

I do not have one but a few of my friends do. About the only complaints i hear are that it has some bad blind spots and the MPG is not the best.

Agreed. Windshield is very far in front of the driver's head with a thick A-pillar and thicker C-pillar. Corner visibility sucks.

I've heard they're discontinuing it after this year. Not sure if that should mean anything in your decision making or not.

The only thing I am struggling with is I currently drive an Infiniti FX45 (heated leather seats, v8 power, ...) and the FJ doesnt have any of that. It does however have the ability to go pretty much anywhere, where my inifiniti would not. I would love to keep my Infiniti but it is one of the unfortunate recipients of a oil drinking engine. It starting making an engine noise i am not comfortable risking hence the need for a new vehicle.

Does any one have any suggestions in the $30000 range for something I could take camping and has somewhat luxury add ons?

If you're buying to build a trail rig they are great, as a daily driver not so much. Gas mileage sucks, back seat feels like you're I'm a cave, terrible visibility. They are kinda gutless and typical plastic Toyota interior.

But again, great trail vehicle, lots of mods. We were in steamboat last fall and I swear everyone any their sister had one.

You can get a Wrangler with a lot of luxury items anymore, leather, heated seats, power stuff, remote start, nav. Still drives like a jeep but at least they are starting to have some creature comforts.

My first new car cost more than my dad's first home. Ain't inflation grand?
