Government service isn't any different than private sector work. My company has been trying for years to dump the low performers, but we still have them and they still get promoted.

If it's the company I think it may be, they're sure good at both dumping and driving out the GOOD performers.

jerrymrc, I remember as a 1st Lt being told to purchase a new supply cabinet and filing cabinets because our standard gray GSA materials didn't fit in with the host unit's color scheme (which was this ugly mauve and lighter color gray). I protested at first then requested a memo for record stating what they were asking me to do and why. I got my MFR so I processed the purchase order but my squadron commander was shaking his head over the MFR as he approved the purchase.

And we do try. Today I had a talk with an 04 and E6 and explained that just because YOU think you do not need something that was purchased with tax dollars 11 months ago that in another 18 months when your replacement's are here that they may want it. 4 years in the making and you think you know better.

I also explained that the items they were trying to turn in are on order by two other sections at this very moment. They then talked about that they have no space......... In the end I did explain a fraud,waste.abuse investigation would happen and to have a nice day. I do believe they are going to back down on there cleansing at the moment. 4 years to go. 33 down.
