Flush that wound out and flush it again. What kind of dog was it? Don't mess around with it.
I have always heard that.... a) dog saliva will heal a wound and you should let them lick it!.... b) Dog saliva is second to that of the Komodo Dragon in deadly bacteria count.

Not sure of breed, hate to say pit, but was boxy like that. Little taller then a normal pit too.
Hope to find out more on Monday.

I heard if an unknown animal bites you, you should resolve the issue right there. Hope the OP is ok, then finds the owner and dog that assaulted him.

If the wound is odd in anyway what so ever i.e lots of puss, large amounts of redness, smells funny, dark lines going up your arm go to an E.R. also if you feel odd in any way i.e. sick, tired, malaise go to the E.R. With you being on dialysis i do not know if they can treat you with a large amount of antibiotics. I know you are going in on Monday but things can go from bad to worse quickly with an infection so do not "man it up" in this situation.

You should go get it checked at either an ER or Doc In the Box. Don't wait too long, sepsis sucks and being on dialysis you are vulnerable. PD needs to take a report too.

Looks like everyone has covered the "good advice" stuff. Just gonna say, sorry to hear that and its owner's like that, that give "responsible" dog owners a bad name…. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for the advise and well wishes. This morning it does not look any worse than a bad gouge. It's about 1/4" dia. and only about 1/8" deep. No redness, smell or swelling.

Sometimes larger than usual, sometimes less, and I would second everything else.

Roger definitely make this priority 1 for tomorrow. I've seen a lot of bite infections, and while treatable, your risk is different as a dialysis patient for sure. Actual breed probably doesn't matter.

Also, yeah, definitely report. This is not ok.

that sucks, hope you get better

just my thoughts though, why is it dog people feel ghe need to pet every dog they see? why were you approaching her dog in the first place? especially if it is out of control.
Self control: The minds ability to override the body's urge to beat the living sh.. out of some ass.... who desperately deserves it.

    Holy crap.. I laughed!

    Sorry op.. continue.
