I've shot steel at 100 yards with a 1911 quite a bit. It's pretty fun. I've tried 200 yards, but didn't get many hits. It was easier with a .44 mag. Still fun to screw around with. Never tried 300.
I'm impressed.

I can hit clays at 100 with the 1911 or any full size pistol I have. Everyone should be able to do that. I've done 200 with my P229, have to give it a whirl at 300.
Of course Karl can hit 600 with his 1911...
