I had my whole truck stolen 2 years ago with tons of tools in the box I feel your pain. Over $7000 in tools gone pretty tough to come back from even with what the insurance give you ( only what you have receipts for). I fricken hate thieves

This is actually getting very popular. I know a couple of guys back home who use game cams around their property for just that purpose. Kind of a funny, since they live in a very rural part of the country in the Midwest, one of them once told me they caught their mailman taking a leak between the porch and the side of the house. They said the look on his face was absolutely priceless when they told him to knock it off. Since their are no windows in that area and the cams are very well hidden, I'm sure he was absolutely baffled as to how they knew. Anyway, sorry to hear about some oxygen thieves stealing your tools. I'd start checking your local pawn shops and craigslist.

My dad caught the whole thing when he got assaulted in his backyard. The neighbors all came out the woodwork making it out to be a trayvon martin thing. I had bought my dad a handheld 3" viewing pad for it. The cops got a kick out the quality of the pictures. Then turned around and arrested the Kid, and his dad who came out yelling racial slurs and being disruptive.

Well, your policy might require a police report, and it certainly helps the credibility of the claim. That's only if you are going to report it though.

Sucks. Report it anyways, if they catch a guy selling or stealing more, they might recover some of it.

Hey Sparky. Sorry to hear this. If I were to lose my hand tools somehow I'd be crying like a baby. Easiest to replace hardest to break in. Nothing quite like your normal set up. Expensive loss overall. Freakin' thieves suck.

It's a measure of the civility in this country that no ones seems to fear constantly pissing off the people who own lots of guns.

What a horrible thing to have happened!

Report it to the police, fill out the paperwork. Do you have any photos, or have any identifying marks on your tools? There usually is a burglary unit that has contact with local pawn shops. It's not a great chance, but better percentages than doing nothing.

Get a Dremel and put a mark on the tools you replace them with- something like a asterisk, that would stand out. Not your name of SSN. Take photos of your tools for insurance purposes.
