Is it just me, or is the video gone now? I'm seeing a notice it's been removed.

He could have avoided the conflict had he gone the another way, or stayed back. Instead he advanced on the moose twice. The moose was obviously anxious the first time.
Unless there was an emergency to force his way past the moose he should have given the moose a chance to move on and enjoy the moment.
The guy escalated the situation.

The part I don't get is if he was trying to scare it off by yelling and clapping, why did he move toward it?

Moose Are Often Seen On Snowmobile Trails
Moose Attacks Are Serious!
Moose are not frightened by snowmobiles, ATVs, or
other vehicles. They will stand their ground and possibly
charge. Do not chase, harass, or pursue wildlife on foot,
a snowmobile or any other vehicle.
Moose often travel on packed trails and will avoid
deeper snow adjacent to trails. If you encounter a
moose on a trail, use an alternate route or allow the
moose time to leave the area.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife suggests viewing moose
from a distance, and being prepared with a camera,
binoculars and/or a spotting scope.

Thanks, BMB. Here's the poster as a jpg file so it can be easily read.
Let's be clear, this was an inexcusable provocation and killing of a calf moose. The aggressor was the dumbass snowmobiler who saw the calf on the trail, stopped, gunned his engine and started barking like a dog. What did he expect was going to happen? Then, instead of taking an adjacent track and moving away as was his legal obligation, he advanced on the calf twice in deliberate acts of aggression. The moose calf defended itself and it's territory as moose do with a parrying blow, then ran off. Instead of driving away from the animal, the idiot then shoots at the calf, prompting another defensive charge, whereupon the shooter empties his Glock on it.
The shooter was the perpetrator and could have avoided the situation at any time up to the point he pulled the trigger. All he ever had to do was wait, or drive around.
In CO, he would face a $1500 fine and possible confiscation of the property he used in commission of the crime, including the snowmobile and pistol. Wouldn't be any different in another state. Word is that Wyoming Fish & Game is investigating the video as evidence of a wildlife crime.
What that d-bag shooter did was stupid, dangerous, completely avoidable, illegal and extremely irresponsible. Idiot shooters like that reflect badly on responsible gun owners. Guys on this forum shouldn't be defending his thoughtless, irresponsible and unlawful conduct.
The snowmobiler did just about everything wrong when approaching a "wild animal".
My first thought, after watching the video, was did he finish off the animal.
