This is journalism?? LOL Nothing in this bit of fantasy writing is remotely true. This is fear mongering and hype! "just a few clicks of the mouse and you’re off to target practice" - It's not anywhere near that simple and NOBODY is going to be using something like this for target practice. It's doubtful that the plastic barrel could withstand the tens of thousands of PSI from a single factory pistol round, let alone withstand that stress more than once or twice. Apart from not being realistic or practical, to say that a 3D printed gun is "undetectable by almost any security system" is also a joke - Ammunition is still metal. A real gun barrel to stand up to the high pressures created by a cartridge being fired is most certainly going to be made of metal. As far as assassinations go, any assassin would be much better off using a kitchen knife for reasons of practicality, reliability, and actual chances of success. - Maybe we should take her magesty's lead and ban those too...

Didn't John Malkovitch use a plastic gun in a movie, along time ago. Rubber band for the firing pin. Not printed but looked more sturdy. News 4 is really on top of things. I think internet news reported this like a year before?
