A real gun barrel to stand up to the high pressures created by a cartridge being fired is most certainly going to be made of metal. As far as assassinations go, any assassin would be much better off using a kitchen knife for reasons of practicality, reliability, and actual chances of success. - Maybe we should take her magesty's lead and ban those too...
