Default Democrat retiring after 59 years of Screwing and living off American citizens.

To my mind this is much of what is wrong with America. What our country doesnt need is career politicians sucking at the taxpayer teat. And this jackass replaced his father. I believe this goes against everything Jefferson and the founding fathers had in mind. And it sure is wrong to me.

Like one other member has in his signature line. TERM LIMITS, one in office, one in prison.

And I wouldnt care what brand of politician he was, this shouldnt be allowed.

Term limits have a side effect of making a politician completely unaccountable. When you know you are not coming back anyway (and not planning to switch to another office) why should you give a damn what the voters want.

That is a good point, but on the flip side, they stay in office so long (*Cough*Biden,McCain,Graham,Feinstein*cough*) they become so far detached from their constituents and the rest of American society that they become an "elite" class, instead of representatives from among the people.

Yeps, with most falling somewhere in between I don't think there is a huge need for limits. Most don't spend a lifetime in there.

It does bug me seeing political families, 2x Bush, all the Kennedys, multiple Udalls, Clinton... For some reason they get elected.

Term limits: 12 years combined federal service (to include the House, Senate, or any post in the executive branch, after which they are NEVER allowed to work as a lobbyist, advisor, or in any appointed position. Nor are they eligible to contest for any .gov contracts in the private sector. No pension, no special medical benefits, beyond what would be available to you and me, 401K, etcetera.

And - all laws passed must apply to them in office as well, no exceptions for anyone in public service.

I'd much rather have a term limit on laws than on the people that vote on them
