I'll take a Cabela's any day over all the other big stores. They may hoard it but at least they can get it and are selling it at non-panic prices. Even if they didn't hoard it until a big event and they were putting it out as soon as they got it it would be gone in minutes so I don't see what difference it makes? Just like Wal Mart or any others It's gone as soon as it hits the shelves.
I wish they would have build a Cablea's here in the Springs instead of Bass Pro.
I love Cabela's and what they do. 1st 22 lr ammo. They may get a case in. But they only put 1/2 or so out at a time. 1st come 1st serve. And they do NOT do it at certain day's of the week. They make it fair for everyone who comes in the door. May be when they open?? May be mid day?? May be at night??
I like Sportsman's Warehouse but. They advertise, ammo on this day. Gone. Powder and bullets on this day. Gone.
Walmart. Be there at 6am on ??? day. No one knows, stand in line and you might get some 22 ammo. But if your 6th or more in line. To Bad so sad.
Cabela's same with powder, primers, etc. They try to make it fair so everyone get a piece of the pie.
Went to Gander Mtn outside Madison, WI and they had plenty of 223, 556, 40 and 45. Did not have an 9 for plinking and of course no 22 on the shelf. Did not see what they had for reloading. Prices were inflated of course.
I went to the Thornton store, the line started to form before 6 and was probably 60-70 deep by 7, probably a couple hundred by 8 when the door opened. They came out around 7:15 and passed out #'s (for 22lr of course)and made a credit card offer(20 dollars off if you're approved for a Cabelas Card). They advertised Winchester M-22 copper plated HP but sold Blazer LRN, 1,000 rounds for just under $49.00. Limit was 2 bricks per person and when I walked out around 8:10 the line was around the side of the building. A couple of guys walked up just before 8 and could not believe the turn out, asked how early did the front of the line start, answer was a guy who was sleeping in the parking lot since 4:30 in the AM. Its sobering to think how intense the demand is for a non-essential item and to realize how desperate society will become if its food, water, or energy that becomes scarce...makes we want to prep like a mofo -OR- stand in line for 2 hours for a thousand rds of 22 instead of sleeping, or BOTH !![]()
