    Default Any centurylink folks here?

Trying to set up DSL at my house with a purchased modem and I can't get it set up? Any one here know the skinny? I have the modem synced to the system but can't get it to the right settings, I would call but my sprint phone has no service at my house.

Holy crap century link is not very helpful! When setting up the new modem it was asking for the PPP, I called century link finally from my wife's phone and they told me to cal the modem manufacturer, they told me to call c-link. So I called India back and it was like pulling teeth to get the info, since I bought my own modem they didn't want to help me. When we set this up the lady told me I should buy one so I didn't have to pay the $8 a month for a rental. Of course they don't even have an office up north to pick up a modem so it was either buy or wait for the mail. I can't get a cable modem here or I would have, 2 days of messing with it but I finally got it working and I'm getting a whopping 10mb download and .7mb upload speed but at least it works.

i was expecting slow speeds so I ran a phone line right to where the main tv is for my roku, and cat5 from the router to all the rooms, especially the reloading room!

10 MB down is way more than you need. Unless you stream a lot. Don't you love this world of high-tech, self service? Every man for himself.

I too have Century Link. My internet speed sucks huge elephant balls. They installed a damn junkie on a treadmill with a crack rock dangling on a string in front of him to power my modem. Damn stuff is so slow if it were any slower my browser would be going backwards in time. I called them and all they said was, "Sorry sir, you have the fastest available speed that is offered in your area." What the hell is that? The speed of snail? Okay, /end rant. Sorry.

    I beg to differ

Jk'ing. This is my circuit at work. I do however pay Comcast for 50 Mbps.
