    Default The tide grows stronger...

Following in the vain of Venezuela, Egypt, Ukraine, Syria, and Greece, Turkey is now experiencing a significant wave of dissatisfaction with their 21st century government's policies. So I guess my question is, when/will the US follow suit? What will the ramifications be and how will our country take shape afterwards? If and when we see organized resistance, will it be so significant that it kicks off a worldwide reform or situation?

The people that'd be good to protest don't like crowds and would stay home.

Your questions, as I see them, in order:

I dunno, but I do think it will be at least in the next decade, if not the next 5 years or under. Personally, I hope never; but there are too many things going on nationally and internationally to ignore.

Good question...I think the political divides of the country may have a factor in the equation, but I'm curious as to what other people think.

History shows when one empire falls, another rises.

The question I have is: has this shit being going on for decades? The internet is a bitch...Info gets disseminated at the speed of electricity now. Is it any worse than it was in the 80's, 90's, or even the 00's?

Might be the one in the AD in the background.

    The world is a FUM.

Isn't everyone else tired of us rescuing people around the world on our dime....when our leaders decide *blank amount of injustice* is too much? I think we ought to focus more on our people/country here, as a primary task...and maybe kinda sit back a little more as far as the rest of the horseshit going on globally.

Could this go on here? Sure... Problem is who? Irving hit the nail on the head- it won't be folks who think like us. I doubt it would even be the fed up members of the Tea Party. No, the ones in this country who would go all out and take protests to new levels would be the same low-information dolts like the Occupy movement, or some other left-wing radicals hell bent on ridding the world of that evil capitalism.

I think we will see this when there is a major economic collapse, which will be far worse then the great depression. We are on the precipice of collapse now. When this happens, there will be a major movement toward socialism as the sheep look toward the government to save them. It will be a mess and the end of the American "empire", and it will happen soon. Personally, I believe this is Obama's plan; he has to break a few eggs to build the socialist utopia of his dreams.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

For all our faults this country is so far removed from the conditions of those countries that we have a long way to go before we see anything like that.

Respectfully, I'm going to have to disagree there. I don't see us nearing a collapse soon. If you look at the wealthy in this country, we could have the continuation of our national debt for years, and these people won't even bat an eye. My GF's aunt for one- she can afford to give her daughter $60K a year, for just being her daughter. I've met some folks (one is my GF's client) who can afford not only the biggest damn house I've seen in some time, but also a brand new S600 every year. And he has his money planned out for the next 30 years or more. I just don't see us collapsing anytime in the near future. Of course, I could be wrong...
