    Lightbulb First SBR Build

    Hello ladies and gentlemen

Once again, thank you for letting me join in and for the information that I have absorbed in the past days.

I am currently starting to build my first AR-15 and I am going for an SBR build, home defense and when it hits the fan, anyways, my quick questions are:

Currently I have selected an aero lower receiver, question for this one is, has anyone used this lower and\or any good or bad reviews for it ?

    http://aeroprecisionusa.com/lower-re...ver-gen-2.html

And I am thinking of using this stock:

I still have not decided which brand to use for a barrel, I am looking to use around 9 to 10 inches for the barrel and yes I want to add a silencer to it, now the question for this one is; will a silencer work effectively for such short barrel or ? Since I have seen different opinions about cans not working properly with barrels shorter than 8 inches .

And about the caliber it will be a .223 , I would like to use .300blk but the cartridges are a bit expensive at the moment and I have no reloading equipment...

Oh and is it recommended to use non rolling pins or just use standard pins for the lower and upper receivers ?

Thank you and I apologize if I cause any issues by not using the search feature ( I have used it many times, but I am using most of my time doing research on brands, ammunition to use, etc )

Thank you for the advice !

you're not going to use a folder with a buffer system, DI or piston, Unless you're running an Oly, or ZM style upper.

Ah I still need much to learn and much research to do, I did not know that, thank you Sir.

Disregard my folder question, seems too much of a hassle and not to many pros for it.

    Thank you Sir

While that set up allows the stock to fold. You cannot have it function w/out the stock in the normal position. If you run a 7.5 bbl, you should also run a brake vs. f/hider mount. You have less chance for baffle erosion with the brake, than f/hider.
With all silencers, lifespan is determined by several factors, including caliber, barrel length, muzzle device, and firing schedule, so there is no definitive answer regarding lifespan.

Thank you both for the input, I shall definitively use a brake for it, as for the folding stock, I am not looking to shoot with the stock folded, thank you all for the input once again.

Aero is a good lower, I've used 2 of them and no problems, good fit and finish, etc. Their upper receiver is good to go as well.
