Your right. They aren't pulling any money out of the system. They aren't putting any money in either. You've heard the saying "you have o spend money to make money" well the reverse is true as well. "You have to make money to spend money"

They fee isn't about Dow making money, it's about charging the guys who just put in for points every year and never buy a license. The idea was to try and help the in state guys who if are true sportsman usually buy sometime of license every year. If you buy ANY license the previous year (big game, fishing or small game) you will not be charged the fee. Everyone wants to bitch about the money, but they are the first to bitch when there is no access to ground, no road maintenance, no fish in the lakes, or all the winter kill because Dow didn't have the funds to air drop feed to the herds. If you want to bitch, call your politicians. They are the ones who combine the Dow with parks and rec. those dam bicycles get to use the ground and trails and search and rescue on our dime. Our hunting dollars fund these and they use them for free.

At one time if a hiker, or biker, needed to be rescued and held a hunting or fishing license, they were covered. Are you saying that they now don't even need a hunt/fishing license to be covered?

They still get charged $3 per species for a fee. Not much but when I out in for every species and my wife puts in for every species, and you have to buy a habitat stamp, that starts to add up. Now people have to spend at least another $20 each year just to avoid getting charged $140 in fees as residents. So they tripled the price of the habitat stamp essentially. And now they get false numbers saying what a massive increase in small game or fishing or combo licenses they sold. Oh wait all those people will require more rangers. Those cost more money....and the cycle continues,
