    Default Big Game Points Question

Thinking about hitting a different area this year, can some one point (no pun intended) me in the right direction. How do you tell how many points are needed for particular GMUS and and seasons. I have looked all over the DOW sight with no luck, I would have thought this would be easier to find. Thanks for the help.

    Here you go: http://cpw.state.co.us/thingstodo/Pages/Statistics.aspx
look at the "preference points required" sections.
Common sense is a punishment for having to deal with those who don't have it.

You can also pick up the Colorado outdoors magazine preference point edition. They have them for sale down at Dow headquarters. It as all the breakdowns for all units of what it took to draw last year.

What's annoying is that they don't include success rates in that issue, so I've always got to have three diff docs in front of me to discuss GMU draw options.

Also available at most libraries. The worst is the terrible point creep now. Units that 10 years ago required 12 points are now 18-20.

I didn't know the library carried it, all libraries. Thanks for that. Point creep is a bitch, I wish they would bring back point banking so guys would use some of their points. I think it would help a lot.

Point banking was a once time thing, I believe.

Now I haven't been to every library but call them, or check online. Douglas County's website shows its availability. I also used to read it when I went to Araphaoe Community College to do research, non hunting.
