If a member of the military can not be trusted to carry a loaded sidearm, then that person should not be in the military. We give them machine guns, bombs, grenades, missiles and fighter jets but giving them the responsibility to carry a sidearm is too much?
This was my thought exactly. They trust us with weapons, loaded, 24/7 downrange... But back home? Where we should have expect damn near absolute safety? Oh better not... Stupid I tell you. I just don't understand that DOD policy.
