Active shooter call reported at Naval hospital

ORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Navy officials are investigating an active shooter situation at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth Tuesday. Officials with Portsmouth Naval Public Affairs told WAVY.com they heard an active shooter announcement come over the loudspeaker. Within minutes, the call was ended.
Sources inside the hospital told WAVY.com people were told to shelter in place.
WAVY News’ Anne McNamara is on scene and reported seeing emergency vehicles near the barracks on the hospital’s property.
