Last weekend we took a little road trip from Denver down to Durango through Grand Junction (Colorado National Monument) and Ouray. I stopped at three different Wall Marts and didn't find any pistol ammo. Today I just happened to stop in the Wall Mart at Evergreen and hit pay dirt. They had three hundred rounds of .40 and 700 rounds of 9mm. I have plenty of .40 but was almost out of 9mm so I bought 400 rounds - the clerk would only sell me four boxes because he wanted to keep some for the next customer. I should have sent my wife back for some but didn't think of it at the time.

They also had about 200 rounds of 44mag and 100 rounds (only) of CCI minimags. Way down on everything, but at least I got some 9mm.

Tuesday at the Delta Walmart I bought 1k Winchester white box 9mm in 100rd packs. Left 600 rds for the next guy because I'm nice like that. Told the little lady that lives in my house that I ain't quitting till I have 10k for every gun I own. I've been trying to get ammo for 3 months and finally happened to be there when they had it in stock and money in the pocket at the same time. Usually it's just money in the pocket.

Man, I conserve when I go to the range, only spend a couple hours and easily go through 200 rounds. That's just a couple hours of target shooting. Think about being at war in some TEOTWAWKI situation for several months or years! I just wish I had enough money to stock up that much, there's plety to go around, it just takes some digging. I found 9mm at 2 Wal-Marts today without hardly trying!

Yesterday I picked up 12 boxes of .40 at Wally World. Lucky stop for me since they had nothing else in stock

12.47 per box. Damn good price.

I bought 6 and had a buddy pick up the other six.

I get as much as I can. I want a ammo fort....it is kind of like a gingerbread house but I can shoot up everything it is made of instead of eating it.

an average of 600rds min per week for me with .22lr if i bring out 1/2 the 22 collection its an easy 1K's worth of ammo.
With out ammo all you own is an expensive paddle...
