Had one fly really low over my house once, but then they landed in the ball field of the elementary school across the street. It was some kind of show'n'tell for the kiddies, they were squealing like maniacs.

Again not saying they were "looking" for me or anything as I am just not that important ,just strange and wondering if it had happened to anyone else.
They go by sometimes. I took this pic from Echo Ridge

Just a pilot checking to see if there were any strange cars parked in front of his house while he was gone.

Yeah, CO Guard units are still using the alpha models which don't have the integrated vehicle management system. Or at least they were as of last year when I last got a close up look at their birds. When I was crewing in Afghanistan we still all had alphas as I believe the mikes didn't come out until 2006 or 2007. Basically the change was because the IVMS allowed the addition of better weapons control and better power control for the pilots and extra counter measures like the AN/AVR-2 which is the laser warning system. The APR-39 is the radar warning.

I had a couple blackhawks circle for a while and then follow our couple rigs up the last little section of Mt Baldy last summer. Guessing they were out doing some S&R training.

It's the black silent ones you need to be worrying about.

The in-laws had them circle over their house near the south site regularly a couple summer's ago. Typically at night and at VERY low elevation. We all figured it was training of some sort.

Coolest one I got to watch so far was out east of buckley....I was working a solo night job with only the coyotes and rabbits to keep me company when i heard a woop woop woop. Trio of choppers flew by doing night ops, silencers on, only the point man had his red tail light on otherwise dark.......and flying low and fast. I know it was training (well, I think), but gotta have some balls to fly that fast and trust he guy in front not to sneeze or anything. Wasn't pitch black yet but still dark enough to barely silhouette.

Coolest thing ever to see is rotor blades creating a static discharge with dirt/sand particles when spinning (known as the corona effect)... Saw it a lot in Afghanistan:
"There is no news in the truth, and no truth in the news."
"The revolution will not be televised... Instead it will be filmed from multiple angles via cell phone cameras, promptly uploaded to YouTube, Tweeted about, and then shared on Facebook, pending a Wi-Fi connection."
