Thanks for the input everyone I appreciate it. Not sure which direction Im going to go. I think I will take some time and think it out. Hell I havent even test driven it yet, I might not even like it at all once I get in it. My little Impreza might be my ride for the summer.

The new Cherokee is pointless for off-road. It is built on a Fiat and Chrysler chassis. The dodge dart uses the same under carriage. It was created to replace the liberty which failed. They think using the Cherokee name will sell more. But as a "Jeep" in my opinion it is pointless

    This.

The new Cherokee is a trail rated Dodge Dart with a taller roof line. If you plan on doing any real off roading buy something else.
It just doesn't have the articulation that your going to want, and modifying the suspension is going to be cost prohibitive.

I would love to see one follow me up Eagle Rock..

Which shows the downfall of the Cherokee. My 99 Cherokee with likely smaller tires (31's) and less "traction aid" (rear locker), did just fine on Eagle Rock..

Ya the Cherokee now isn't like the old ones. It's a whole new vehicle and they just brought back the name Cherokee. It was all about marketing and sales.
