    Default dishNET Satellite Service

I currently have Hughes Net satelite internet service and it's ok, but friggin expensive. With nothing but satellite service available up here I'm wondering about dishNET through Dish Network. Anyone use it?

It looks like I can bundle dish network tv and the satellite service and save a bunch. The TV end of it is less important to me than the internet service.

Get good internet and netflix/amazon prime/ whatever else you are interested in. Much much cheaper and no commercials. I don't miss satellite one bit except for sports.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of package do you have with Hughes Net and what are you paying for it?

It's $74 per month for internet ONLY. I'd have to check on our "download allowance", but we rarely go over. It does suck that we can't stream or use Netflix, etc. though.

No. And it's too choppy. Plus, we would use our entire download allowance super fast and end up paying even more.

I know folks who use Wild Blue and it's a very similar service to Hughes Net. The only other choice besides satellite is a point to point radio type deal (sorry for lack of tech jargon) where you need to be in line of site of a tower. I am buried in the trees so I'd need a 100 foot tower on my roof to see any of their towers.
