Default 300 blackout speer 125 gr tnt load.

For those of you have been playing around in loading 300 blackout, I am look for some intel. I am just getting started with loading 300 blackout. I have been reading up on the topic the past several months. And this is what I have come up with for a plinking load.

    - LC converted brass I convert, and gauged with the Sheridan gauge.
    - Speer 125 gr TNT
    - CCI 400 SRP
    - W296 starting at 17 gr
    - OAL 2.050

My one question is what would be the max load for W296? I have looked up and down the World Wide Web and cannot find a lead on the max. Plus Speer doesn't have any thing published for the load.

    Thx

I dont use 296, but the Speer 125 TNT is a great bullet for the 300.

Work up in .3 increments till you start getting pressure signs.

As of right now I have been doing my metering with the Lee powder disks. With the powder disks and the W 296 it has been a challenge to make small increases. When you go up in a size on the disk it increases the 296 charge by 1.5 gr. I have been able to get it to meter charges consistently with the W296.

Now I know the powder disk isn't the best when it comes to metering, but all my loads in 45 and .223 have been in bulk, and I am looking at a bulk 300 blk plinking round not a match grade round.

With the lee double disk you have to switch both disks in order to go up small increments. For a work up you should probably load a small quantity at each weight and just use your powder scale and a funnel until the load is as you want it. Them when you find your sweet spot calculate which disks to use for production.

Did you find those bullets locally or order online? I'd like to get some to load on the lower end. I've only loaded 150-168 in the blackout.

I ended up getting the micro disk that I can adjust. Which so far it has been very consistent I throws and can be dialed in to the load I want.

I got my tnt's from Midway USA, but have been keeping my eye open for them in the Denver metro area.

I'm hope within the next month I will be able to take my work up loads out since me barrel just shipped. I'll report back. All the guys on 300blktalk have good reports for the 125 gr tnt.
