My son graduated from Basic yesterday. The first of these images if from formation on Family Day. The
battalion caught the crowd by surprise. Dad/kid pic is obvious, followed by Pass in Review. I am proud of
this young man.

Congrats to you and thank you and thank him for serving the country!
I think that graduation looks much cooler than the one I was at...UNC.
Wellington Web and his wife were there as honorary guests and their daughter spoke...nobody enjoyed that one except when she finished!
Scratchy - You certainly look the part of a proud dad, and you have every right to be.
While you sons choice of the Army over the Air Force perplexes me, I am thankful for his service. While Basic Training was tough, the toughest parts of his enlistment are ahead of him. He is going to need a shoulder to lean on, and, from time to time, a shoulder to cry on. I know you'll be there for him.
Please pass on my thanks - from one veteran to a new young man taking up the torch.

The Army/AF/Navy thing got me too. I was 6 USAF, 6 USN. I will be there when he needs a hand. Thanks Thomas. I appreciate it. Thanks guys, and yes, hell yes, I am a proud dad.

Congrats! You have a very good reason to be proud! Any word on his first duty station yet?
Not meaning to hijack the thread, but...
There's nothing wrong with the Army except that they aren't the Air Force. One of the reasons I had joined the USAF is that it is (was) the only branch that the enlisted stayed away from the front lines & we sent our officers to fight the war.
