I got some scratches on the fender of my Explorer that were probably as deep as those....from an effing tumbleweed on I-76. I used a very fine compound on a buffing wheel, gently....and the shit came out alright, waxed it up, and you can hardly tell it was there now.

    Good luck, man.

No excuse for any shit bag that would do something like that on purpose though....bastards.

That sucks man. Had the same thing happen to my Chevy but they decided to drag the key across the whole tail gate. I've been told if you can catch your finger nail on it, it probably will not "buff out." Get some quality rubbing compound and have at it. Work slow and patiently.

Last time I had it happen, I used the jackwaggon's face to buff it out, didn't do much for the paint but sure made me feel better

Just kidding, but as others have said, doesn't look too deep to try one of the aforementioned fixes. None of which will do more harm than good and if it needs to be sanded out and re-painted it's not going to make a difference in the cost of that repair to try one of them.

Man that sucks. Why are people such assholes.

General rule of thumb, if you can feel the scratch with your thumb nail it will not buff out. Let me know if you need help with it

A good detailer will fix that no problem. If I had the compounds and the right buffing pads I would take care of it. I used to detail cars back in the day and enjoyed seeing how much could be fixed. That shouldn't be a problem honestly.

    Don't trust myself on clearcoat.

So, I guess the elephant in the room is: Who'd ya piss off? (kidding!)...Seriously, though, any suspects? I'm guessing that will mostly buff out, but damn...
