Default Informative 2011 FEMA Report on Nuclear Devices in Washington DC

This is a very extensive (120 page) report on the potential effects of and government response to a ground-based nuclear blast in the Capital.
    https://www.hsdl.org/?view&did=702738 (It's a PDF)

The actual report is 50 pages, with several appendices that detail sheltering, building materials, decontamination, and timelines. Appendix C Has some good info on where to shelter within a given structure for maximum protection from nuclear effects (blast, radiation, fallout, etc).

I think many members here would find this information interesting and hopefully beneficial in the unlikely event of a nearby nuclear detonation.

There is planning for the worst then planning for fantasy, this is bordering on the latter. Who the hell would want to nuke Boulder.

But it is probably more interesting than some of the fiction I've read.

It may be fantasy for you, but there are multiple prime targets in Colorado Springs: Peterson AFB (US Space Command, NORAD NORTHCOM, etc), Schriever AFB (All of our important comm satellites are controlled from here, along with GPS, the Missile Defense Agency, and a bunch of other cool toys), Ft Carson (Huge base with a lot of personnel that is very important for training), Cheyenne Mountain AFS (Secret Squirrel Stuff... right next to Ft Carson), Air Force Academy (big commissioning source for AF officers, along with hundreds of active duty AF officers on staff... lots of 0-6s and higher), and big headquarters buildings and offices for Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Aerospace, and countless others... There are lots of worthy targets in Colorado Springs. Then just up the road at Buckley, they control most of our intel gathering satellite resources and some other cool stuff... ULA headquarters in Denver... The Front Range is a prime target. Even North Korea things Colorado Springs is worth targeting, even if they think C-Springs is in Arkansas.

Well they are targeting CO Spring because some video record got leaked to them. They know we have the worm hole device buried under the cheyenne mountain.
