Default Re: Registration/Confiscation - Politicians may have to pick a side

Seems pretty smart to me, any thoughts on this? Caution, you will have to read for about 45 seconds...

I am sure it will be killed asap before it turns into a political grenade as it gets bigger. Could be one that Obama has to kill in order to save dem's chances in November.

As much as I'd LOVE to see this come to a vote, there's no way in hell they'll let it hit the floor as it forces them to put their nuts on the table one way or the other. And VERY few of those slimy bitches have the balls to do that.

The beauty of it is, not letting it hit the floor has the exact same result.

How is forcing politicians to openly admit to wanting to confiscate/register guns a big deal? It won't change anything at all. WE know their stance, THEY know their stance, and EVERYONE that votes/doesn't vote for them knows their stance. How does this change anything?

True, but only for those in the committee. The rest can still claim "I didn't get a chance to vote on it".

I hate to say it, but a good portion of the voting public doesn't know, they don't care until it lands on their doorsteps, and then they're all shocked when it happens. Look at what happened here last year. If people weren't shocked by the crap legislation that got crammed down our throats, then how were the recall elections successful after those same people were previously voted into office? A LOT of people were shocked. Sad but true. Granted there was extenuating circumstances that pushed those votes to the fore, but people simply don't pay aattention until it's in their face and a lot of them will vote for D's based on other things if they think their guns are safe, when it's thrown right in their face that they are NOT safe, then they reconsidder. I've seen it happen a lot in MN where I grew up. Gun control is about the only thing that will trump Dems getting elected in many areas of MN and something like this could change that state from blue to red overnight if they were dumb enough to vote against it.

I'm afraid XC is correct. Never underestimate the power of human stupidity and people voting party line even if the party today bears no resemblance to what it was 30-40 years ago.

We don't know. We probably do, but it has not been proven. This will put it front and center and will make it record. In a crucial election year, this is HUGE!!

I am curious as to who will get to make the initial votes on this thing and what chances is has of moving up the ladder. I could see it getting killed right away if Dems get the chance, or it makes it all the way to the King. Everyone knows he will veto it but by that time I think the damage will have been done for the Dems and at that point Dems can vote for it and then just say Obama killed it, blame him.

Bill never even gets heard in committee. Rep. throwing feel good shit at the wall hoping something sticks and crows about the attempt afterward.

So who is in the committee that kills it? What if a bunch of pro 2A types are in this committee?
