If people weren't shocked by the crap legislation that got crammed down our throats, then how were the recall elections successful after those same people were previously voted into office? A LOT of people were shocked. Sad but true. Granted there was extenuating circumstances that pushed those votes to the fore, but people simply don't pay aattention until it's in their face and a lot of them will vote for D's based on other things if they think their guns are safe, when it's thrown right in their face that they are NOT safe, then they reconsidder. I've seen it happen a lot in MN where I grew up. Gun control is about the only thing that will trump Dems getting elected in many areas of MN and something like this could change that state from blue to red overnight if they were dumb enough to vote against it.
Agreed. It's horrifying how much of the voting public cannot answer simple citizenship questions that immigrants are required to answer. How many U.S. senators are there? Who was POTUS during WW2? Who was the first POTUS? What are the 3 branches of government? Basic things that a significant percentage of U.S. voters have no idea of.
