I have to agree that the DAV is doing a pretty good job with their donated bucks. I drive a DISABLED AMERICAN VETS (DAV) van from Raton to Albuquerque and the majority of my passengers are middle age to OLD aged folks. The DAV seems to be a well run organization. The vans that we volunteers drive are provided by the Ford Motor Co with the DAV paying a portion of their cost. Recently we got a new van, probably two years ago, that was a replacement for the old one which had about 340,000 miles on it.
If any of you guys have some spare time, would like to help our Vets and would not be able to make financial contributions, the DAV is always looking for volunteer drivers. There is no pay for the drivers but helping these disabled men and women Vets does give the drivers a real feeling of pay back/accomplishment.
