Default 100th Anniversary of the Ludlow Massacre

100 years of Tyranny. or if you think the government wouldnt...they would.

I thought I would post today, since this weekends festivities might make people forgetful. (not you guys of course)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludlow_Massacre

The Ludlow Massacre was an attack by the Colorado National Guard and Colorado Fuel & Iron Company camp guards on a tent colony of 1,200 striking coal miners and their families at Ludlow, Colorado, on April 20, 1914. Some two dozen people, including women and children, were killed. The chief owner of the mine, John D. Rockefeller, Jr., was widely criticized for the incident.

and those of you with the NRA Rifleman magazine just read about how our government send fighter bombers to quell union uprisings back east.

Stopped by the monument once and walked the place, signed the book. Gave me the chills to see and walk where it happened. My wife says it is know to paranormal devotees as one of the most haunted places in CO.

It's hard to imagine this happened at all, let alone 100 years ago! It's a good example of how corrupt the government can be.

The "Death Special." This was an improvised armored car built by private detectives using the CFI plant in Pueblo.

They are having some activities happening on Saturday, April 26th. I know that there is a 5k, 10k Half Marathon, and 5k walk then. If you want some info on the race pm me.

I read a series of short stories by a miner during that era. He was on a group that was trying to defuse the situation and get cooler heads to prevail on both sides of the argument. His account of the situation was chilling.

These tragic moments in OUR history should never be forgotten. This crap happened in our backyard! Make sure your kids know about what happened there and why, I doubt the schools are doing it.

A very sad part of Colorado history.
