We rarely shoot anything but black powder due to the price of ammo. I have considered selling numerous guns due the lack of affordable ammunition. Sad considering that we used to shoot weekly, and that two of my children shot competitively through high cool.

Black powder is fine but it too is getting rather pricey to buy. I did see a few cans of BP in FFFG grade at the last Pueblo Tanner show with a price of $35 per one pound can. Not that I need any, I wonder if there are many stores actually stocking this powder anymore. Most business have discontinued stocking it due to storage requirements etc. Next thing there will be restrictions on musket caps and flints.

That is very true, I have been buying from mail order place in Maine, which is a bit cheaper.

The cost of everything is going up and up with no sight in end. I will never pay 50-60k for a truck and I can afford it.

I have been buying ammo at the best price I can find, usually at pre-panic prices from guys and gals that are fair minded. If I can't buy it at the price I am willing to pay, I don't buy it. What has kept me from shooting lately is the weather on the weekends as I don't belong to any ranges (can't afford their rates).

If we stop paying these inflated prices, the prices will come down. There is a glut of guns now and prices are coming down, the same will happen with ammo too. I will make one more purchase of ammo: 200 rounds of milsurp .30-06 at $ .61 per round and then I will have enough to shoot my C&R rifles for a couple of years.

Awesome... the Military is going to destroy $1 Billion worth of small arms ammo!
Nobody can tell me these aren't artificially inflated prices by limiting demand and then destroying the Billions the big daddy ordered.
