Carrying AR Pistol in Backpack

If you're in an unincorporated area with a valid hunting license, you can carry concealed while "hunting" without need for a ccw. With a permit, you could carry your AR pistol pretty much anywhere not prohibited under the CRS without the need to disassemble it, as long as it remains concealed. Open carry (including inadvertently revealing a concealed weapon) is governed by local law, and varies by location.

Expect harassment. While legally a handgun and meets the provisions for Concealed Carry with a permit, an AR pistol is not designed as such and will be met with lots of resistance from LE if discovered. I could legally carry a 8" barrel 500 S&W with a scope but that is more suited for hunting than defense. Your intent will start to come into question as well as your motivation for carrying that choice of pistol (ie. defense vs showing of/intentionallycausing a scene). Not the image we need of gun owners on the news at night. Remember, mission drives the gear. Just carry your regular CC weapon.

But if I own a motorcycle, I'm going to the range and the only way to carry my AR pistol to the range is in a backpack with the upper and lower receivers separated....than that is ok right?....I dont see anyone carrying a rifle case, tennis racket case, guitar case with a firearm inside it strapped to their motorcycle on their way to the range.
Now if I were to stop in between locations, like at a coffee shop, or some place public before or after heading to or from the range, than I'm carrying the AR pistol concealed until it is safely locked away in a safe at home. Cause if I stopped along my journey while on my motorcycle, I wouldn't leave my backpack just sitting with my bike while I'm inside such coffee shop, store, etc....the backpack would still be strapped to my back with the AR pistol inside it.

With your CCW, you are legal either assembled or disassembled, anywhere not prohibited by the CRS, as long as it remains concealed. If it becomes openly carried for some reason, local laws on open carry would apply.

The question has been answered, You have a CCW, carry your pistol any way you choose. You're looking for technicalities where there are none, it's either concealed or it's' not. Who cares how you carry or secure it Concealed means Concealed.

You're not traveling across state lines where they may or may not have reciprocity with CO. That's where safe storage / conceal ability comes in to play.

Can you clarify on the bold part? How is an Ar pistol not designated as "SUCH". What does such mean; as a pistol?

Ok, so this brings up an interesting question. Hope this isn't considered a high jack, but; having a rifle in a back pack (concealed) is illegal? I really don't worry about having a rifle in a back pack, and never considered it illegal. I always have one concealed in a back pack, rifle case, etc. as i prefer to carry it from dealer to dealer that way. Also; to and from the range that way. How do you guys carry your rifle to/from the range? Like I said never gave it much thought; but wouldn't it be considered "transporting". i thought I read transporting isn't considered concealing.
