    That is another benefit of buying direct from Cammenga. I was assured of a new product with a twelve year shelf life in regard to the Tritium illumination. The legitimate ones being sold by resellers are often from dated stock, and therefore the Tritium illumination could fail on you. The old adage of you get what you pay for seems to aptly apply in this case...

    Glad I saw this thread, I'm in need of a new one since mine was bought in 2000 when I was still at Ft Hood. Still works fine as a compass, just doesn't illuminate anymore. I'll probably just buy direct so I know I'm not getting another 10+ year old item.

    Ive been using lmgtfy.com for years. It's an awesome smartass answer that I usually use for really basic questions lol

    Hit them with a UV source for a few seconds and it will glow brighter than any amount of white light could make it glow...........
