If this is true that would be without a doubt, clear cut age discrimination. Why should an adult who flips burgers gets paid any more than a teen who flips the very same burgers?

And why should a "big" company be forced to pay more than a small one?
Unbelievable. Not only are they screwing themselves with this new crazy high min wage, they are being outright discriminatory and anti American at the same time by singling out young people and large companies.

I wish it was immediate so we could see the failure sooner than later.

Teens don't have families to support was one reason they put behind it. Eventually all companies will have to pay at least 15/hr, smaller companies just have longer to get there. And I think larger companies that provide health benefits have some extra time as well.

The people who are really going to get screwed by this are those living/working just outside of Seatlle's city limits. Once people start to see their prices going up because of the new wages they will start going further out to buy their goods at the places still offering lower prices. Now, what usually happens when businesses start seeing increased business, they raise their prices (supply & demand in action). those people not getting the benefit of increased wages who then have to deal with higher prices will feel the sting.

Councilmember Tom Rasmussen said "Seattle wants to stop the race to the bottom in wages" and address the "widening gap between the rich and the poor."

I'm so tired of hearing about the gap between rich and poor.

Get an education or learn a trade like the rest of us "rich" people did. Jesus.
