    Default Serial numberd ammunition?

A person at church told me today that there may be a resolution going to the state legislature about serial numbering ammunition. I told him I hadn't heard anything about it, and I thought it was probably just rumors.

Has anyone heard of this actually happening?

Penn, Hawaii, and Mississippi also have similar state bills being voted on in near future.

Not serial numbering ammo, but micro stamping. Of course, this is being heavily marketed to Dem's across the USA by the only company that acually makes the very very expensive machinery that would be required by gun manufactures to use.

It's end-around gun control hidden behind the mask of "making it easier" for LE to catch who shot who... Anyone with a lick of sense about guns and acually investigated a homocide would tell you this micrstamp on the case would be WORTHLESS. (BTW, I qualify in both regards.) The next stupid illogical step would be to outlaw reloading or reusing brass to reload.

Here's the rub. You have two basic types of violent offender crime scenes; organized and disorganized. A disorganized offender would typically leave enough evidence of who he is that they would be IDed and caught long before any micro-stamped cartridge analysis and records check would be anything but supporting evidence for court. An organized offender would typically NOT leave the fricken brass on the floor, or remove the microstamping, or use a throw down gun and leave no chain of evidence back to them.

Some crack head, gang banger, scum bag isn't buying their AK's, SKS's, and Jensen's them selves and leaving a paper trail of them owning the gun. Not to mention the itty-bitty fact that steel cased Wolf ammo wouldn't work for micro-stamping anyway. Oh ya, this would kill foreign manufactured and imported guns too...

So, in conclusion... This is simply feel-good "look at how great we are making the world" (and really just f'ing things up because we are idiots) democratic diarreah.

People in these states (unlike CA, who has already passed this sh!# there) need to empower their state reps with some of the basic facts of the uselessness of this or watch the manufacturers of firearms in this country die a slow death from it.

Now people would only use reloaded ammo to commit crimes. that way there is no chance they could be caught and police would simply give up.
only those who use the microstamped ammo would be caught and would be sure to give themselves up...not just file off the pieces that do the markings, or buy replacements, or toss the gun, or....oh wait...here it comes....buy a REVOLVER!

obvious tactics by the dems to try and control everything each person does in their life. I hope the company that is trying to sell this garbage goes under very quickly.

Bush & the GOP did more to get us into the Police/Nanny state then the Dems in the last 15 years.

But how much of that really came from pelosi as speaker of the house.

I truly believe if we could get her out of there things would change drastically for the better.

Everyone likes to blame the guy at the top, but there are too many people below and around Bush that made things bad, but Bush took the blame for it all.

No nothing here in CO yet, but state laws like this affect every other state. If 25 of the 50 states pass stupidity like this, manufacturers have to make choices, do it, not sell in those states, or just shut down. The anti's win with all three choices. If the manufacturers comply, then the anti's get to go onto the next step in the slow bleed to gun ownership death.

This is how it happened in England. This is how it happened in Australia.

Oh ya, I can't believe I failed to mention this part of it all earlier...
How is LE supposed to figure out who owns the gun that left the microstamped brass? Hypothetically, the law passed, murder occurred, brass was found with a S/N on it. OK, now what? The cops are going to say it's worthless info. Dem's are going to say they now need a central registry of all firearms S/N's and who owns them so LE can match up the info faster.
