Batting cages
I need to find some batting cages in the west metro area. My sons coach is interested in moving him up from T ball to pee wee league. My son is 5 and would be playing with 7 and 8 year olds. I would like to try him on some pitching machines to see how he does. 45mph is the speed we need.

45 is faster then he will see until 9/10's. Don't push speed, just work on good form. That means tee work and soft-toss. I still use the soft orange golf whiffle balls with my 14yo daily and he is now playing competitive club ball.
Slammers seems to have a good org, go and take a few lessons, you can also learn from the lessons how to better work with your boy. In the end you will be his coach for life, best get the skills.
Both my boys play competitive and depending on league, most are machine pitch until 8. I set up a T with a moving blanket hung from the joist in the basement. They both practice hitting off the Ts with yellow soft practice balls. Griffey, Gwynn and most of the top hitters hit off Ts in the offseason. It is kind of like dryfire for shooting. That is more important that getting him trying to catch up to pitches faster than he will see. There are a lot of boys that play up until 12s or so, then they seem to normalize.
I'd try Diamond Club off the I-70 Frontage Road before slammers. There is also "CoachUp" and other smart phone apps where you can video your son and get quality feedback from hitting coaches. Baseball is 6 tools, the 6th being mental and pushing them too fast can hurt the confidence. Some coaches are like lawyers and some are true gems.

The K Zone is on Wadsworth, just north of Colfax. They have coaching staff. There are also cages in Golden at Ulysses.
